Halo 3 “Sierra 117? Campaign Video
Just bumped into this lovely gem. Apparently, at a recent demonstration of Halo 3, they decided to play through some of “Sierra 117?. Lots of good ground fighting footage in this brand new clip!
There is commentary throughout the clip, but it’s pretty difficult to hear what the speaker is saying over the game volume. If anyone can find a transcript, that would be great!
Oh, and the Arbiter (presumably) is in this video, making his first appearance in any game footage so far (we believe anyways). Also worthy of mentioning is that Objectives will now appear at the bottom of the screen rather than at the top left as in the past Halo games.
Forge Demonstration Video
Xbox360FanBoy.com found a really cool demonstration of Halo 3’s newest feature, “Forge”.
The demonstration is given by none other than Bungie’s Brian Jarrard, who walks the press through the ins and outs of the wonders of Forge. Perhaps one of the coolest bits of info pulled from the video is that Bungie will be keeping track of what players are doing in Forge. If one particular map configuration works really well, Bungie can easily incorporate it into matchmaking for all to play.
We’ve talked about Forge a bit in the past but this is probably the best video out there so far which actually shows the new feature in action. We’ve heard from some players in the Epsilon Beta that this is actually their favorite part of the game now, offering a brand new and innovative way to play online with your friends.
Halo 3 “Narrows” Video
Here is another Halo 3 Multiplayer Video from PAX 07 to go along with the Halo 3 “Guardian” Video we revealed yesterday. Another 5 minutes of multiplayer carnage on Halo 3’s new map, “Narrows” (also can be seen in lots of screenshots floating around, as well as in last months edition of EGM).
It is shaky cam, but it’s better than nothing at all we suppose. We’d love to see these matches broadcasted in HD Versions from Bungie, but I guess we will have to wait.
It kind of reminds me of a shortened version of Halo PC’s Gyrophobia.

Flares / Blinding Lights in Halo 3
A recent video posted on Gamersyde indicates that there will be Flare’s in Halo 3 Campaign that act in a similar fashion to Flash Bangs. The Covenant can deploy a flare which will produce a blinding light when you look in the direction of the said flare for a few seconds.
There are no details on whether this will show up as a usable item in the campaign or multiplayer, but if it were, we’d imagine it to be some form of Equipment since there are already 4 grenade types.
Halo 3 “Guardian” Video
A brand new Halo 3 Video has surfaced showing off a new Multiplayer map called “Guardian”… a map most consider to be inspired by the Halo 2 map “Lockout”. This seems to be like a leaked video from some gaming convention (The Tags on the videos indicate PAX 07). Regardless, the content is great, and definitely worth a watch. You’ll get too see one of the creepiest maps we’ve ever seen in a Halo game, plus some action from the new energy sword, and incendiary grenade.
We also were able to sight the use of the Fuel Rod Gun in this video, The Plasma Cannon, as well as the Flame Thrower. Who’s getting excited for Halo 3 now?
Also, we kind of wish that some decent players would start being in these videos. These are great, but the players just are not that good. But hey… for over 10 minutes of preview goodness… who’s to complain, right?
Halo Wars E3 Demo Online
As mentioned earlier, the Halo Wars E3 Demo is now available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace! You can start downloading it immediately if you have Xbox Live, or you can also download it directly from the Halo Wars Official Website.
This guided tour through 10 minutes of play time really gives us an excellent look at what Ensemble Studios has in store for us come 2008. With the end of the Halo Trilogy so close at hand, this is some refreshing news for the Halo Nation!
